JOSIE ASHTON

Josie Ashton is a victim advocate and an activist in the South Florida community since 1994. As a survivor of domestic violence, she uses her experience and her education in criminal justice to help victims navigate the system and use it in a positive way to help families restore their lives. Josie is also known as the creator of The Bride's March, a 1300 miles journey in a wedding gown to raise awareness about domestic violence. Contact Josie at myhosiashton@aol.com



DR. LAURA FINELY

Laura Finley is Professor of Sociology & Criminology at Barry University. She is also the author, co-author or editor of more than 30 books as well as numerous journal articles and book chapters. In addition, Dr. Finley is actively involved in a number of organizations devoted to peace and justice, including The Humanity Project, Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and the Peace and Justice Studies Association. FREDRIQUE FRAGE

Fredrique Frage Associate Director, Student Involvement and Leadership Broward Campuses Ms. Frédérique Fragé is currently the Associate Director of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership at Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) Broward Campuses. Ms. Fragé received a Bachelor’s Degree in History at the University of Florida and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs from Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Fragé has worked in the field of Student Affairs since 2006. Prior to her current position she served in the FAU Offices of Multicultural Affairs and International Students and Scholar Services as the Designated School Official (DSO). In addition to her duties with the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, she is the primary liaison to the Broward Campuses for the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement and Service, and supervises the coordination of activities and programs for the students of the FAU Broward Campuses. ALISON MORRIS

Alison Morris is a licensed marriage and family therapist with Delta Psychological Group, Aventura, Florida. While working at Barry University, she co-chaired the Programming Committee within the Division of Student Affairs. The Committee established annual Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month campaigns in response to the growing number of students sharing their stories of domestic violence. In collaboration with local academic institutions and agencies, educational and preventative activities were established to heighten awareness of domestic violence in the community. Alison continues her focus on supporting clients in creating healthy relationships through her private practice and pre marital and marital workshops. Alison is committed to supporting her clients in creating the life and relationships that they will find ultimately fulfilling.
